MICRO DEFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Wolverine Tube's Micro Deformation Technology(MDT) is the low cost, manufacturing method for creating compact microchannel surfaces for use in thermal transfer applications.
Unlike laser and chemical etching, Wolverine's proprietary technology requires no physical removal of surface materials. Micro-deformation can be used to form microchannels in a wide variety of ductile metal surfaces making it ideal for thermal management solutions.

Micro-Deformation Technology (MDT) is a proprietary material forming process developed for the production of engineered heat transfer tubing. The patented process employs a fixed tool, which mechanically and plastically deforms the work piece to form finite and repeatable microchannels. Through the use of Micro-Deformation Technology a variety of channel depths, channel widths, fin shapes and angularity can be achieved.
